Explore the 5-day trail.

A day to discover how young talent can become an engine for territorial revitalization.

Day 1

September 30 - In the footsteps of Hermann Künig.

The first day of ELCCA will be dedicated to young talent and its capacity to imagine new ways to revitalize the region. We will travel along some of the most representative sections of the Künig Way, following the legacy of Hermann Künig, author of the first written guide to the Camino de Santiago in 1495. Among the landscapes of Becerreá and Baralla, participants will discover that heritage is not only an inheritance from the past, but also a source of opportunities to build the future. Along the route, there will be idea labs, networking spaces, mindfulness exercises in nature, and visits to properties with rehabilitation potential. These spaces will serve to explore new possibilities linked to rural entrepreneurship, sustainable tourism, co-living, social innovation, and the enhancement of heritage. The day will combine inspiration, learning, and action, fostering creativity and strategic thinking. Because great changes begin when a new generation is able to see a region with fresh eyes and discover opportunities where others only see challenges.

The second day will feature those who know the territory best: the elderly.

Day 2

October 1st - Memory and Legacy

The second day will be dedicated to those who know the land best: the elderly. In the spectacular setting of the Cóbados de Belesar, where vineyards slope down to the Miño River, creating one of Galicia's most unique landscapes, we will walk the Winter Way to celebrate the experience, memories, and knowledge accumulated over generations. During the walk, intergenerational encounters will take place between participants and local residents, where the elderly will share stories related to the Way, the history of the region, and the traditions that have shaped the area's identity. Simultaneously, there will be opportunities to reflect on new models of living in rural areas, exploring initiatives such as cohousing, active residences, day centers, and community projects that can help retain the population and improve quality of life. The day aims to demonstrate that innovation and tradition are not opposing concepts, but rather complementary ones. Because the future of rural areas cannot be built without listening to those who have dedicated their lives to understanding, caring for, and keeping them alive.

A day to demonstrate that social inclusion and diversity are key factors in building stronger and more resilient communities.

Day 3

October 2 - Put yourself in their shoes

The third stage will be an invitation to view the region from a different perspective. Under the motto "Put Yourself in Their Shoes," this event will cover an accessible stretch between Ribadeo and Mondoñedo to promote social inclusion and the active participation of groups that typically face greater difficulties accessing certain opportunities. Unemployed individuals, migrants, and people with disabilities will share an experience designed to demonstrate that diversity is a strength for any community. Throughout the day, awareness-raising activities, experiential learning sessions, and workshops will be held to identify opportunities related to heritage, tourism, and local services. The goal is not only to raise awareness but also to promote entrepreneurship, employability, and active participation in the life of the region. Beyond the physical journey, this event aims to generate collective reflection on how to build more open, accessible, and cohesive communities. Because when we remove barriers and expand opportunities, it's not just the people who need them who advance: the entire region advances with them.

A day to transform conversations into alliances and opportunities into real projects.

Day 4

October 3rd - Opportunities Day

Lugo will become the main meeting point for heritage, investment, and territorial development. This event will bring together owners of heritage assets, entrepreneurs, investors, national and international experts, community organizers, and stakeholders connected to the Camino de Santiago, all with a common goal: to transform potential opportunities into real projects. The program will combine inspiring lectures, presentations of success stories, analysis of investment and territorial regeneration trends, showcases of assets with rehabilitation potential, and specialized workshops on sustainable rural development models. In addition, there will be matching and networking sessions designed to facilitate direct contact between owners, investors, and entrepreneurs, creating a favorable environment for the emergence of strategic alliances. This event represents the core of the project, as it embodies the philosophy of connecting people, resources, and opportunities to revitalize the region. Because the true value of heritage lies not only in its history, but also in its capacity to generate new economic, social, and cultural opportunities when it finds the right people to drive it forward.

A day to consolidate learning, strengthen connections and plan the next steps for the ecosystem.

Day 5

October 4 - Arrival in Santiago de Compostela

The Camino de Santiago has been, for centuries, a path of encounter, reflection, and transformation. Today, in the 21st century, it also becomes fertile ground for sowing the seeds of the future and transforming purpose into action. As the culmination of this transformative experience, early in the morning we will travel from Lugo to Monte do Gozo, where we will begin a symbolic walk into Santiago de Compostela, reliving the spirit of pilgrims throughout the ages. Our arrival at the Plaza del Obradoiro will be a moment of shared emotion. A final group photo will be taken at this emblematic location where all the Camino routes converge. After a short break, we will enjoy a guided tour of the Cathedral, including a climb to its rooftops, from where we can contemplate the city with a new perspective. We will continue with a day of reflection and a closing ceremony, where certificates of participation in this unique experience will be awarded. We will conclude as a community with a farewell meal near the Cathedral, celebrating the journey, what we have learned, and what remains to be built together.

Wednesday, September 30 · ENTHUSIASM AND TALENT

Via Künig · Pedrafita do Cebreiro–Baralla

We will begin our journey where change often begins: in the ability to imagine something that does not yet exist. The Künig Way will be our first open-air laboratory.

We will walk, observe the landscape, and pause before disused heritage sites to consider what new forms of life, tourism, entrepreneurship, or collaboration could find their place there. Conversations and mindfulness in nature will help us get to know each other in a more open and intimate way.

  • 08:30 h–09:30 h - THE JOURNEY STARTS IN LUGO

We will meet in Lugo to begin the organized journey to Pedrafita do Cebreiro. During the trip, we will be able to discuss the purpose of the day and begin to familiarize ourselves with the landscape that will accompany our first day on the Künig Trail.

  • 2:00 PM–4:00 PM - THE TERRITORY SHOWS US ITS GASTRONOMY

We'll sit down to enjoy a tasting menu prepared with local products. In addition to exploring the local cuisine, we'll have time to continue the conversations that began during our walk and discover common ground through this shared experience.

  • 6:30 p.m.–7:00 p.m. - FROM IDEAS TO OPPORTUNITIES: WHAT DESERVES TO CONTINUE?

We will conclude the main part of the day by sharing the ideas, questions, and lessons learned that emerged during the Camino and the workshop. This synthesis will help us identify which topics deserve to be addressed further in the following days.

  • 7:00 PM–7:30 PM - WE RETURN TO LUGO WITH MUCH TO SHARE

We'll end the day with dinner at a restaurant in the city. It will be a more relaxed time to get to know each other better, talk about our experiences, and plan the next leg of the journey together.

Thursday, October 1 · MEMORY AND LEGACY

Winter Way · Valdeorras

The second day invites us to walk at a different pace: one that allows us to listen. We will travel the Winter Way, highlighting the memory, tradition, and knowledge of those who have lived in and cared for this land for generations.

After three days of walking, listening, and observing the area, we will bring all the pieces together in Lugo. The Opportunities Conference will foster dialogue between heritage, investment, land use, financing, technology, regulations, and real-world experiences.

This will be the time to present opportunities in an understandable way and to connect with those who can contribute resources, knowledge, or execution skills. • 13:30 h–14:30 h - BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY: FROM CHOOSING A TERRITORY TO GENERATING ACTIVITY AND EMPLOYMENT

We will analyze how equity, debt, grants, and development phases can be combined. The session will help you understand that an opportunity doesn't need a single source of financing, but rather a structure that is consistent with its maturity, risks, and objectives.

  • 2:30 p.m.–4:00 p.m. - NETWORKING LUNCH: WHEN CONVERSATIONS ALSO CREATE OPPORTUNITIES

The networking lunch will extend the time available for getting to know each other and conversing. The environment will be designed so that owners, companies, experts, institutions, entrepreneurs, and investors can exchange perspectives and identify potential synergies.

  • 5:00 PM–6:00 PM - TECHNOLOGY, DATA AND RELATIONAL INTELLIGENCE: FINDING THE RELATIONSHIPS AN OPPORTUNITY NEEDS

We will address permits, ownership, contracts, governance, and community relations. We will understand why an opportunity needs clear rules and appropriate agreements to move forward safely and avoid future roadblocks.

  • 6:00 PM–6:30 PM - WE PAUSE THE PROGRAM, NOT THE CONVERSATIONS

The second coffee break will allow participants to relax and continue the exchange before the final sessions. It will be a good time to organize questions, connect with new people, and prepare for the more practical part of the day.

  • 6:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m. - GOVERNANCE AND REGULATIONS: HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PROJECT POSSIBLE

We will explore success stories explained through real-world experience: figures, mistakes, lessons learned, and difficult decisions. The aim is not to showcase perfect results, but to understand the conditions, adjustments, and compromises that made each advancement possible.

  • 7:30 p.m.–8:30 p.m. - WE WILL PUT THE OPPORTUNITIES ON THE TABLE

The Opportunities Marketplace will bring together assets, proposals, and stakeholders in a space focused on next steps. We will listen to presentations, facilitate targeted networking, and conclude the day by identifying commitments that can continue beyond the event. Free time until dinner.

  • 9:00 PM - A DINNER TO CELEBRATE, SHARE AND CONTINUE MAKING THEIR WAY
