The Galician government cites the Pazo da Mercé as a practical example of the importance of the Catalogue of Coastal Assets in giving coastal buildings a second life.

The Xunta de Galicia considers the case of Pazo da Mercé, in Neda, a practical and significant example of the objectives with which the Catalogue of assets of cultural value on the coast was created, a tool promoted with the main purpose of protecting the rich coastal heritage that the Community harbors and facilitating that many of the catalogued elements can have a second life, beyond their original use.
